The Best Babies keeps a private registry of names. This page explains what we store and why.

What we collect

When you record a name, we store the name or nickname, the email address used for later verification, the payment amount and status, a registry ID, and the time the payment completed. Stripe processes the card payment. We do not store card numbers.

When someone checks or verifies a name, we store a short-lived technical record of the attempt, including the IP address, so we can slow down guessing. Those records are deleted after a day.

What we show

The public site does not list registered names, dates, or email addresses. A search only says whether that exact name has already been recorded. The certificate, including the name and date, is shown to someone who confirms the original email, and to anyone who opens the private certificate link or scans its QR code.

How long we keep it

We keep the registration for the life of this service, described in the Terms of Service. You can email [email protected] from the registration address to ask us to correct or remove a record.
